Skate hire is available with pairs ranging from toddlers size 4 to Adult size 14. Murrayfield Ice Rink is a great fun (although potentially exhausting) day out for all the family. There are cloakroom and lockers on site. Just as importantly there are free Learn to Skate sessions for complete beginners, so you won't be left clinging to the side the whole time. And if it all gets too much, there's always the café.
Importantly for an Edinburgh attraction parking is free, although you are so close to Dunstane Hotels you won't need the car!
Ice hockey fans may already know that Elite League club, the Edinburgh Capitals Ice Hockey Club are based on the site, as are Murrayfield Curling Club.
As well as ice skating, and ice hockey, the Murrayfield Arena has been used for Ice Shows, Ice Speedway, Large Conferences, Basketball, Boxing, Wrestling, Festival Events, Music Concerts and Indoor Large Screen Broadcasts. The Arena's capacity can increase up to 5,000 for such events.
