Edinburgh's theatres don't just come to life for the August festivals. There's a year-round audience for all manner of entertainment. The Edinburgh Playhouse plays regular host to touring West End musicals and top name shows. The King's Theatre is home to well-known plays with famous faces, while the Traverse encourages new Scottish writing. The Royal Lyceum Theatre produces classic and modern plays in repertory.
